Parassita dell’intestino umano, ospite intermedio è il maiale.
Individuo (tenia) con proglottidi mature, in cui sono evidenti gli uteri con uova (1a). Scolice con ventose e rostello (1b). Uncini del rostello (1c). 
Oncosfera o larva esacanta (2).
Muscolo di maiale infestato da cisticerchi con protoscolice invaginato (3), cisticerco con scolice evaginato (4), sezione di cisticerco con protoscolice invaginato (5).
