A Journey through Disciplines and Cultures A Third-Mission Project of the University of Padua en Modelli da riprodurre, modelli per progettare, fare ricerca o insegnare… Nella loro varietà e diversità, i modelli possono creare ponti tra settori del sapere, tra culture, tra teorie e realtà, tra insegnanti e studenti. Finanziato dal bando dell’Università di Padova che incentiva progetti per lo sviluppo di attività di Terza Missione e Scienza Aperta, il progetto “Modelli. Un viaggio attraverso le discipline e le culture” è stato proposto dal Dipartimento di Fisica e Astronomia, in collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale, il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione, e il Centro di Ateneo per i Musei, con il sostegno di numerosi partner esterni. Il progetto è volto a mettere al centro i “Modelli” come strumento di ricerca, apprendimento, comunicazione e inclusione, dal passato fino ai giorni nostri. Si prevede in particolare la realizzazione di i) una mostra temporanea, “Modelli. Il sapere in tre dimensioni”, che mette in luce aspetti poco noti della storia dell’Università di Padova; ii) la scrittura e la messa in scena di uno spettacolo teatrale “Caravanserraglio”, centrato sull'astrolabio, modello dell’universo tolemaico e simbolo dello scambio tra culture attraverso il tempo; iii) un ciclo di seminari: "Dal modello all'applicazione", e iv) la creazione di schede per PHAIDRA non solo sui modelli esposti nella mostra temporanea, ma anche su molti altri modelli delle varie raccolte dell’Università di Padova. Models to reproduce, models for designing, researching or teaching... In their variety and diversity, models can create bridges between fields of knowledge, between cultures, between theories and reality, between teachers and students. Funded by the University of Padua's call that encourages projects for the development of Third Mission and Open Science activities, the project "Models. A journey through disciplines and cultures" has been proposed by the Department of Physics and Astronomy, in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Engineering, the Department of Information Engineering, and the University Centre for Museums, with the support of numerous external partners. The project aims to place "Models" at the centre as tools for research, learning, communication and inclusion, from the past to the present day. In particular, it envisages the realisation of: i) a temporary exhibition, "Models. Knowledge in three dimensions", which highlights little-known aspects of the University of Padua's history; ii) the writing and staging of a theatrical performance "Caravanseraglio", centred on the astrolabe, a model of the Ptolemaic universe and symbol of cultural exchange through time; iii) a series of seminars: "From model to application", and iv) the creation of records for PHAIDRA not only on the models displayed in the temporary exhibition, but also on many other models from the various collections of the University of Padua.
