Adopting Digital and Virtual Technologies to Enhance Cultural Heritage: the Case of the Aldrovandi Digital Twin

Questo intervento presenta la metodologia utilizzata e i risultati del caso studio pilota dello Spoke 4 del Progetto CHANGES dedicato alla creazione di un digital twin per la mostra temporanea “L'altro Rinascimento: Ulisse Aldrovandi e le meraviglie del mondo”, composta da 258 oggetti culturali provenienti da varie fonti esposti in sei sale espositive, tutte ricostruite in 3D. Il lavoro è stato realizzato grazie alla collaborazione tra ricercatori e studenti di cinque dipartimenti dell'Università di Bologna, il CNR-ISPC, insieme ai responsabili e al personale della Rete Museale Universitaria, della Biblioteca Universitaria e delle istituzioni culturali che hanno prestato alcuni dei reperti inclusi nella mostra, tra cui il Museo Civico Archeologico e il Museo Civico Medievale di Bologna.

This talk introduces the methodology used and the outcome of the pilot case study of Spoke 4 of the Project CHANGES dedicated to the creation of a digital twin for the temporary exhibition ""The Other Renaissance: Ulisse Aldrovandi and the Wonders of the World"", consisting of 258 cultural objects from various sources displayed in six exhibition rooms, all reconstructed in 3D. The work is carried out thanks to the collaboration between researchers and students from five departments of the University of Bologna, the CNR-ISPC, together with the managers and staff of the University Museum Network, the University Library, and the cultural institutions lending some of the artefacts included in the exhibition, including the Civic Archaeological Museum and the Civic Medieval Museum of Bologna.
